A Short Update and Looking to 2023!

Hey everyone, first of all, I want to apologize for how terribly neglected this site has been. I have some big plans moving into 2023, but for now I just want to provide a very brief update about the content work I'm currently doing.

First of all, if you haven't been following along with the podcast, I very much welcome you to subscribe to Mythic Mind on your podcast platform of choice. So far, with some other topics thrown in here and there, I have walked through Søren Kierkegaard's The Concept of Anxiety and The Sickness Unto Death, both of which are primary texts for my dissertation on the beneficial role that anxiety can play in helping us to become more authentic, stable selves. The current season that I'm working on is a Patreon-exclusive series on Grimm's Fairy Tales, in which I read a tale per episode and reflect on the wisdom that it offers. To gain access to this series and support my work financially, you can head over to patreon.com/andrewnsnyder. Next on the agenda for the podcast is Tolkien's Tales from the Perilous Realm, which is a charming collection of short stories.

Looking ahead, I'm going to be starting a new Substack at andrewnsnyder.substack.com in which I'll be summarizing and reflecting on the letters of J.R.R. Tolkien. Whether you’re a Tolkien nerd or have never heard of a Hobbit, there is something here for everyone. While of course he is known for his epic fantasy, and much of that will indeed be discussed, he was an astute thinker in so many domains. His letters have often inspired me, and hopefully they will do the same for you as well! Primary reading on your part is not required, but it is certainly encouraged. If you do order it, I humbly request that you use my associate link here: https://amzn.to/3HIGPan. A free subscription to the Substack will entitle you to a post every other week and a $5/month subscription will provide you with weekly posts. To support my work further, you can also become a founding member by purchasing an annual subscription for $100. If you are already a member of this site, I believe you were just added to the free level on Substack, but of course you are welcome to unsubscribe if you so desire.

Lastly, I intend to get this blog going again with regular posts. However, I don't know exactly what "regular" means, as I'm obviously moving in several directions right now in addition to holding a 9-5 day job, adjunct teaching philosophy and religious courses, and being a husband and twin dad. But, I can say that the more support I receive, the more content I can commit to producing. If you appreciate the kind of work that I do and you see the potential in these new projects, please support me on Patreon or Substack!

As always, I am grateful for each of you and the level of support you already offer me!
